Coronavirus Guidelines

In these extraordinary times, our Charity’s priority for the health and welfare of those with Inflammatory Breast Cancer is more important that ever. Given the vulnerable nature of many of our supporters, we have produced some guidance for face-to-face support during 2022.

We have supported our community online throughout the pandemic and plan to continue this as our main support route through to summer 2022. Trustees will review the current Government guidance in late Spring to establish the necessary mitigations that would be required for resuming official Charity events and support meet ups in person. If safe to do so, outside support events will be the first step in our plans for resuming face to face support services. The earliest point we are considering this change is June 2022.

Informal mini meetups

Our community has always been proud of the friendships and support that our members give to each other. We recognise that informal smaller regional meet ups often happen, however with increasing infection rates in some parts of the country, we are asking members to consider the following actions if still wanting to meet up informally:

  • Meet outside wherever possible, avoiding more popular venues or locations where there may be an increased risk of infection

  • Restrict numbers to smaller groups, taking into consideration that some members may be cautious about returning to meeting up in larger numbers

  • Ensure all attendees take a lateral flow test before meeting up

  • Wear a face covering and use hand sanitiser/wash hands frequently during the meet up

The Charity’s recommendation at the moment is that immunocompromised members do not attend meet up’s. Please also remember to check for local changes that may affect your meet up plans.
